So Much To Be Thankful For.....

Thanksgiving is the beginning of our Holiday Season and it seems the perfect time to stop and reflect on all that is good and positive in our lives. All to be Thankful for.

I know how Thankful I am for my children, which unfortunately, are scattered from one coast to the other and rarely are we ever all together. And while that makes me sad and lonely, I am so blessed to have them in my life and to have many wonderful and sometimes funny memories. I love being their Mom!

Then there are the Grandchildren, extensions of my beloved children, so that makes them more precious to me than I can find words for. They are a joy....a true delight! Each one so different with their own personalities, yet alike with certain traits.

My husband.....I have a husband that has such a good heart. A husband that is so smart with a thirst for knowledge that amazes me. He is calm and steady and has been my rock and buddy for 39 years now. He calmly took me on with my four children and loves them like his own. I am so Thankful for him! We have one sweet daughter, together. At one time we had nine children in the house. His four girls and my daughter and three boys and then we added a daughter to the mix. And, something else to be Thankful for, all the children grew to be outstanding people with careers to be proud of and they are now parents to smart, beautiful children that they are proud of! We did not have any of the trouble that some parents have in this day and age and,.... we feel that truly was a MIRACLE!!

I am Thankful that I am priviledged to live in this great country of ours. We are going to have to work hard to keep the values this country was founded on and not give in to a change by people that want only to destroy what generations have worked for. I am Thankful and owe a huge debt of gratitude, to the men and women who sacrifice so much to allow us our freedoms.

It is good to write and think about being Thankful, as sometimes, like most of us, I loose sight of all the blessings I really have. I get caught up in the "lack of" instead of all that we do have.

I want wish all my great blogging "buddies" a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving and to say I am Thankful to have you and your friendships in my life!
And, of course, to my dear friends, and you know who you are, I think you know how Thankful to have you in my life, I am!

Blessings,
Jil
